Finally got to take one out & compare it to a Canon S40 which was
handy. Nice to use, great build, main problems were : Noisy chip or
JPEG compression. When magnified to 100% in Photoshop the Contax
showed lots of noise in light coloured areas, whereas the Canon had
none. Very contrasty lens, in some shots the reds were hyper-real,
while the Canon was more realistic. The Contax also seemed slightly
soft right in the very corners of the shot.
Overall, nice exposures - quite tranny like in their look but this camera is
crying out for a 'RAW' or 'TIFF' mode. As a Contax G2 owner I expect
the best from the company and this camera delivers - until you get the
images on the computer. I'll wait for version two!!
