Outdoor picutre quality is excellent but indoor quality is not as good as outdoor.
Fully charge GP battery can last for 50 shots including flash, function test, replay.
256M Sandisk Ultra CF can reduce the save time from ~4s to ~2s in a 2272x1704pixels superfine mode (approx 2Mb/picture). Fast is good, but faster is better.
Manual setting of the ISO, shutter speed, WB is good and will be better to have tripod.
Stitch assist mode is very good.
Movie mode is acceptable and a bonus to me as I dont' expect much from a DC since I already own a DV.
Reply with zoom function is a bonus to me.
I was considering the between Casio Z3 and Ixus 400, but I decided to pay for the additon dollars for the additional M pixels, photo quality, 9pts AiAF. I have compared the sample picture of Casio and Ixus, Ixus pictures are alot better Casio.
Problems:
Sometime need to shutdown the 9pts AiAF mode for better picture.
No carry/ protection case.
Body gets warn (NOT hot) after a few minutes but it is acceptable. This was my primary concern before I got the camera.
