I've had this camera for more than a year now. I had an HP Photosmart for a week or so and it sucked. The pictures came out bad, it ate up batteries, and it felt cheap. This camera was a great buy. The rechargeable battery and cradle are a godsend, no need to shell out extra $$$ for them. The construction is great; it's magnesium according to Fuji. My dad dropped it once and dented the casing... any other camera would have probably cracked. It has gone everywhere with me, from the Carribbean to Northern Virginia and everywhere in between. The battery life on it is great and it is full of features.
Problems:
Taking good pictures will take some time. You sometimes have to tinker around with the menu a bit.
There is a bit of a learning curve if you have never used a digital camera.
The short flash range gets annoying at times and takes some tinkering with the menu to overcome it
