After too long searching for the ideal camera the g3 swung it for me purely on specification and a solid reputation, for a beginner all the options can be quite daunting, i think its very important to spend time reading the manual fully to get the most from your investment.
After a couple of hours studying the manual my pictures greatly improved. If it had AA battery option it would have been perfect however i still prefer compact flash for easy cheap useability.(a good trade off!)
My advice is go with your instinct buy what you feel comfortable with, NOT what the salesman has a deal on!
As your creativity grows so will your undesrtanding of this camera and all the features are there to support you.
Its a camera that will stand the test of time in the supersonic techno age we live in and, will hold good secondhand values.
I have wrote this to try and help somone decide on which camera to buy as i have read all the reviews here and am greatful to everyones contribution .
