I am very satisfied with this camera. I have used a number of digital cameras over the past 4 years and this one by far is my favorite for everyday use. It fits in my pocket so I carry it with me everywhere.
Picture quality is excellent and the record time is almost instantaneous. On a fresh set of batteries, even the flash re-charge time is quick. I use it for both close up (macro) and landscape photography and the quality is just as good through the entire range.
It is very easy to use, even my 4-year-old daughter takes great pictures with it. In auto mode it is literally just point and shoot.
Digital cameras have a long way to go before they will ever compare to the quality of a film camera (35mm SLR) but this one is an excellent camera for everyday use.
Problems:
It comes with a 16MB memory stick, which will only store 8 - 10 pictures. You really need to get at least a 128MB. I use two 128MB sticks and have the 16MB as a back up in case I need it.
The MPEG record feature is novel but not high enough quality to be taken seriously. Having said that, I should point out that I have not seen any digital still camera that takes good MPEGs. If digital movie camera is what you want, plan on spending a lot more money and get a camera designed to record movies.
Also, you should plan on getting an extra set of batteries. I have 3 sets (6 batteries). Two sets will last a full day of shooting; about 300 pictures per set.
