I rented an S2 for a week of product and product application shots. Its out of the camera color and fleshtones where superb and 6 mp images at 100% are stunning (when properly exposed). I didn't even delve into raw images since the jpegs and tiffs where completely workable.
The N80-based chassis is adequate and durable, but feels a little vulnerable, but gave no problems. Not sports sideline speed, but responsive enough for fast action. Reviewing images is snappy and won't slow you down in the field. I had such confidence in the images that I rarely reviewed after shooting, except on transfer. Battery life was as good as expected and required.
Problems:
none, except flash exposure benefited from -1.0 exposure compensation with SB strobes to prevent blowing out fleshtones (center-weighted metering)
