I just purchased the s5000 after considering both it and the Olympus c-740. I like the colours on the Fuji, the physical feel of it, and the 30 fps movie capture with sound... weren't sure we'd use it, but it's really quite amazing. I found the 15 fps on the Olympus bad enough to not bother with. The included adapter ring is nice as well, to protect the lens. Unlike many others who have posted here, the first test shot I took with this camera was an outdoor portrait shot at 10x zoom. It was crisp and beautiful... no tripod, and no blurriness. Center your subject, let the AF do its thing, then hold the camera still. We are still on our first battery charge, after a whole evening of taking pics at a party, and the following day of taking pics in 4 more locations. Including a short movie. Still not out of battery power... a welcome surprise.

Problems:

Only issue is finding a low-profile camera case for it... it's a little big for a compact case, and swims a bit in a giant SLR case. With the adapter ring off, you have more options. And if you want to fork out the $$$, you can get the soft case from Fuji, which fits nicely.
