I read copious amounts of user reviews before parting with my money on this camera, and although most public opinion rates this camera as very good with a few ‘minor problems’ I should have taken the downside more seriously. I have no hesitation in stating that this camera has serious focus restrictions! It has no focus assist and will NOT focus even during daylight inside a medium to well lit room. This is a big problem for me, don’t even think about taking it to a party or show, etc. While I’m on the attack I will also say that it’s not good at processing data, with very slow write speeds even to my IBM 1gig Microdrive. The battery life seems also quite poor, compared to my Canon S50 for instance.

Is there any good to report? Well it is quite well made, looks nice, is very light and picture quality and colour are excellent.

I used it heavily for a couple of weeks, and returned it to my excellent dealer who happily exchange it for a Minolta A1 (Of cause at extra charge)

The -’s
Terrible focus system in poor light
Poor power consumption
Very slow write speeds – makes it feel very unresponsive
LCD too small

The +‘s
Lens very good
Well made metal casing
Light, considering its build quality
