I sent mine back.
Everything anyone has said that is good about this camera is correct. It is wonderful to use. It feels good, and the viewfinder is typical of a good SLR. After using the electronic viewfinder of my Olympus C2100UZ, the viewfinder of the 300D was beyond wonderful.
I was ready to accept the added hassle of needing two lenses to cover the zoom range that is now covered with one lens of my C2100. I was ready to accept the added hassle of using a tripod or monopod to steady my shots, or even to buy IS lenes at some later date. I was not ready for the poor image quality I got even when using a tripod.
I expected a 6 Mp picture taken with an SLR to be at least three times better than a 2 Mp picture taken with the C2100. I was very disapointed!!
I gave the camera an Excellent value for the money because with a good lens, I'm sure it is as good as other people think it is.
Upon discovering the poor image quality, I tested with an angled page with printing on it to check the focus. The best focused part of the image was right where the auto focus said it should be, and while it was not bad, it was not as good as the C2100. What is the point of shooting 6 Mp RAW files when 2 Mp jpegs are sharper.
I'm including a link to the comparision pictures I took, and would appreciate any comments.
