I owned this camera for about two months and I love it! The images are vivid and accurate, the 10x optical zoom is just amazing (you don't need a tripod when it's bright enough), and the camera is very easy to use. The DX6490 also works very well in low light conditions. The ELF actually works in those conditions (turns B&W and intensifies light), unlike many other digicams in its range. The 2.2 inch LCD screen on the back is hi resolution, displaying clearly indoors and outdoors.
Out of the 600+ pictures I've taken, there was no major purple fringing. The casing is very stylish. The manual options are enough for a semi-amateurist to a semi-professionalist, when combined with Photoshop. I highly recommend it!
Problems:
The camera seems to only charge in the dock...you can plug AC to it but that only powers the camera...not charge the batteries.
Sure...it's quite expensive...$450...but for the features it has, I'd say it's well worth it!
