Is there a big difference between this and the D7 series? YES! I was glad to find that out when my A1 arrived. A different world in the EVF, LCD and autofocus.
The layout and structure of the controls have been improved in a more logical way, and with far more options. It focuses in a heartbeat, compared with the D7.
The anti-shake? I had my doubts, but last night I shot a hand-held portrait by room light at 1/10 shutter, and it's razor sharp. Wow.
Having the 5 memory recalls available right on the control dial is brilliant. Oh, and the battery - who do I kiss?
Problems:
They've made the lens extension easier to turn, so the lens pushes back in if you try to cap it while in telephoto. No biggie.
