I have been using this camera since October 03 with the 14 - 54 mm lens and have been extremely pleased with it.
Everything has really already been said before and I concur especially with the fast sharp accurate focusing, natural ergonomics, great accurate colors, superb exposure, large lattitude, unbelievable white balance and most gratifying the lack of extra post processing required in Photoshop. I usually just expand the levels range a bit and use a little USMask before printing. The camera settlings are always on default for sharpness, saturation and contrast.

I have two BLM1 batteries but have never run out of juice and had to change batteries during a day's usage even while on vacation when I usually take quite a lot of images.

A pop up flash would have been nice but I use an FL20 if necessary sometimes. Otherwise I just turn up the ISO mostly. At ISO 1600 and above the prints do look grainy (noisy) but appears quite film like without affecting the color balance at all. I quite like this effect especially on some of my low light theartre shots as it just adds to the general ambience.

I have always taken it as a personal challenge not to rely on the histograms but at times a quick check with two key stroke access is not a problem.

In the studio the camera works well but I do miss the ability to view the LCD display in real time while composing shots. However this is just a limitation of being a "real" SLR. Also it would be nice to have a wider angle of view with the IR remote so that it can be used for remote shutter release without accidentally including me in the picture.

In my opinion 5 mega pixels is not a disadvantage w.r.t other 6 mega pixel cameras while the aspect ratio is less than 1 to 1.33 ie: for enlargements greater than 8 by 10 ins. Only when non standard enlargements are required with aspect ratios greater than this does the extra resolution of the other 6 mega pixel cameras come into play. Even then the difference is negligable.

My next purchase will be the 50 to 200mm lens for some sports shots when the weather warms up a bit.

To recap I'm very pleased with this camera because it works great, is built like a tank and takes great images. Also it's good value for money because it covers 28 to 400 mm equivalent with just two light lenses.
