This review is for other beginners like me, contemplating which camera to buy. I've had the camera for a month now and I'm just beginning to get comfortable wth it. To me, the learning curve to access features is pretty steep. In this, I would strongly suggest that you print out the Reference Manual and refer to it often. The real good news, however, is that once you learn how to use the features they are pretty neat ... and the camera takes terrific pictures. I also learned that often the photo may not look great on the PC, but the printed product is outstanding!

I found that the camera needs help lighting indoor pictures (beyond the built-in flash) and I purchased Olympus' lower end external flash (FL-20), which did the trick for me. It may be that mastery of manual controls and flash intesity could negate the need for the external flash, but if you want everything to work well in fully automatic mode like me, the FL-20 is the way to go.

I really like the camera's look and feel ... it is exceptionally well built and very comfortable to hold while taking pictures. The battery lasts and lasts.

Overall, I am very satisfied with my purchase.

Problems:

No technical problems or failures. I just found the camera's features challenging to learn how to use, which I am still in the process of doing.
