I've had this camera since November of 2003 and I have taken lots of pictures but I wanted to wait a while before
giving a review so I could shoot lots of different shots. Now that I have, I can say that this camera is hands
down the best in it's class on the market at the moment. I did a lot of research before I even bough a camera
because I am tight with my money when it comes to purchasing things like this. The camera is worth at least $100
more than I paid for it. Buy the way, I paid the standard retail price of $399. I took a trip snowmobiling in
Yellowstone Park and took about 300 pictures. Some of them could easily pass for postcards. I just recently got
some of these pictures printed (this was also my first time printing digital pictures) at Wolf Camera and they
are absolutely stunning. Seeing them on a computer screen does not do them justice. You don't see the whole
picture (no pun intended) until you get them printed. They look just as good if not better than most 35mm camera
pictures, and that was just on regular resolution. The highest rez setting is even more impressive. This camera
also takes VERY good portrait shots of people and the outside shots are spectacular. The only thing that I haven't
gotten this camera to do is take pictures as well inside as it does outside, but I think that is more of me not
knowing what I am doing just yet. The inside pictures are still very good however. You already know about the extra
features like the rotating LCD and movie mode, but I just wanted people to know that the picture quality (the thing
that matters in the end) is superb. If you are in the market for a point and shoot camera that has the features
on an SLR, trust me, you want the Canon A80. The only reason I didn't give it a perfect score is because nothing
is perfect.
