The FujiFilm FinePix is a great Camera for it's capabilities, 10x Zoom and ease of use all at a very reasonable price. The Camera has preset, priority and manual modes that gives you more control. It also has P (Program) and Auto modes, which gives you the option to take shots when you are not sure what mode to use. Personally I use the P (Program Mode) the most. This mode sets AE and also lets you change settings such as White Balance, Auto Focus, Flash, Metering, Sharpness, and Exposure Bias. The Camera fits well in hand, is balanced well and is just the right weight.
- I have owned 3 other digitals, Fuji's M1200 & 4800Z and the Olympus C3020Z . I still have the 4800Z and the Olympus C3020Z they both takes great pics. The problem with them is the capability of shooting action shots and you really have to play with the C3020Z a lot to get use to the menus and sub menus. These are the reasons why I bought the S5000. After using the S5000 I was even more impressed with the continuous burst shooting.
- Battery Life is great. I get approx 200-380 shots using NI-MH depending on Flash and LCD use. This Camera was rated 2nd best in battery consumption using NI-MH. I also like the fact that you can buy AA batteries practically anywhere for those times your rechargeable go dead, especially when you are on vacation and you do not want to miss a shot.
- For sample pics I've taken feel free and go to www.pbase.com/kmpcc
I have printed some of them and they look better printed then on the screen. Very sharp and vivid colors.

Problems:

- 1st the delay through EVF/LCD when tracking moving objects. This makes it a little tough. You can cut down on the delay by using Sport Mode or Shutter priority, turn off the Pre/Post View and you can also use continuous burst shooting. There will still be a delay but if you do all this you should get good shots pending Exposure. I suggest reading the manual a couple of times to get the mode settings down, this will be very helpful when shooting the Preset and Priority Modes. You can also check out various Online Photo Lessons.
- 2nd the Mode selector moves very easily where accidental mode selection may occur.
- 3rd also was not happy with the ISO setting. The lowest is 200 and I found in some outdoor shots I probably could have used 100 or even 160. If the shot requires an ISO Speed of less than 200, I will use the Auto Mode since ISO can go down to 160 when in this mode.
- 4th the 3.1 MP seems a little low for a Camera that has so many features.
