I just bought Nikon 3700 week ago. Before I bought digital camera, I studied 5 models (Canon A75, A80, Nikon 3200, 3700, 4300) by download user manuals and read through them. They can not hide anything in manual, I guess.
Firstly, I thought that I should consider the quality of photo which is normally being well done by the photo camera leaders. So I select Canon and Nikon only. After I got it, I just realized that taking movie is more fun than photo in some situation, like party. Because we can record atmosphere, sound and movement.
The movie should be 640x480 at 15 fps since we can see it cleary in TV and computer screen. And we can zoom picture during taking. I can't find other brand/model which can provide 640x480 with zoom during movie taking.
When I want to share movie file via e-mail, I've to convert it to MPEG or WMV which is much smaller. 40 MB -> WMV 384kbps is only 1.6MB.
Problems:
The disappointments are
- Cannot take photo using one hand in some situation, 'cause no grip.
- No IS as Panasonic, I can shake Panasonic while taking and the out put has no blur.
- Battery spare and 512MB SD (10MB/s) are required if you use movie quite frequent.

Finally, after price comparing (price after rebate), I think that this model is the best one. Unfortunately, I'm not in US so I bought $100 more than US people.
