BUG!!! weird behavior. This is an update after about 7 months of use. THE CAMERA FAILED. Sometimes it doesn't turn on or wouldn't turn off, then the dial doesn't do anything, the P, M, S, A modes don't switch or stay stuck in one mode. Random menus pop up, most buttons don't work. I can still take pictures if the camera chooses S or P mode - i can't control it!!! similar behaviour had been described in other posts and people were able to get it repared by warranty.. But I am in Russia and not sure if we have warranty service here.. I'll see

I got my money's worth - there's not any doubt about that. But I'm going to be very picky so that you know what not to expect for this camera.
I love the wide angle - three shots in panarama give you almost 180 degree view.
I like the rotary dial - I adjust flash intensity and exposure compensation and whole load of settings on the fly with a press of a button for about every function.
I like the battery life. I take between 300 to 400 5mpixel pictures for one recharge.
You can learn how to trick the autofocus into focusing exactly on what you need. AF likes to focus behind the subject if you are not attentive.
Execellent Macro and night shot (especially in full manual mode) capabilities. AF is on slower end of average. The camera is fast if you set the focus manually - I set the focus to infinity and get very quick response for shooting out of a moving car. Autofocus fails on moving objects and in the dark. There's AF illumination which helps but works slowly. Picture quality and noise better then the competition.
Problems:
bug desribed above which seems to affect a lot of cameras after half a year of use...

The lens power could be better then F2.8. This combined with ISO 200 and 400 being noticably noisy especially in dark areas you are in for a lot of noise vs sutterspeed compromise in low light. With ISO 80-100 you have to struggle to get a non-blurred image in twilight with sutter of 1/2 to 1/20 sec.
I ABSOLUTELY HATE the fact that the rotary dial can NOT be used for manual focusing - just the buttons - what a shame! I wish I could download some firmware to fix that.
