I currently own: Sony f828, Canon 300D. Have previously owned: Sony f717,
Sony DSC-S70.
This is a a camera that fits my needs perfectly. A small compact excellent
quality camera that I can tote around for scouting photoshoot locations. Or
anytime I don't want to lug around a dslr with lenses. After all the best photos
come at the spur of the moment when you are not always prepared. I carry
this with me all the time in a pocket - fits easily!
Excellent feature set with very fast start up time and enough manual features if
you so desire. A great back up camera or a great first camera. Typical quality
sony construction. So far appears rugged. No regrets on purchase at all, no
problems with the camera whatsoever. Menu system is easy to use.
Problems:
Low light situations default to a lower shutter speed so you need to keep that
in the back of your mind. Use something to stabilize your hands, adjust iso,
although you will get typical small sensor noise at anything higher than 100
iso. But for normal 6 x 4 prints this is not an issue. SL flash mode in low light
you can get some creative shots, sometimes the more camera shake the better.
Try taking a shot and as the shutter is open move backwards. You can get
some interesting effects.
