Currently I am a designer, and have been using digital as a 'tool', never
seriously. But having decided to concentrate more as a career, I knew I
must upgrade from my sony DSC camera.
Having read reviews of 350D I decided this was best option.
Let me start with the size issue. I am a big guy with long fingers, and
overall, the 350D is a little small, for hands, but I like the smaller size
actually. Having also bought the Battery pack this is no longer an issue,
though If you want to use this camera with big hands, this is something
I suggest you do to.
Image quality is fantastic! it has the quality I hoped from a digital
camera. With ultra sharp and beautiful colour images. One not to
make, is that many people view their photo's on CRT monitors, or
simply bad monitors. Viewing my photo's on my Apple Cinema Display,
I can really appreciate the sharpness and colours.
there are plenty of options and ease of use is excellent. Though I wish
I could see the camera on my desktop as I can my sony and can't work
out how to send images to the camera.
With a fast CF card (I have cheetah 1GB 80x) the camera blazes.. and I
have not encountered problems with speed.
Overall, this is an excellent camera for pro's and amateurs alike, which
offers outstanding quality at an excellent price, if you can avoid the few
small problems, that are of course there to encourage purchase of
higher price placed cameras.
I would recommend this to anyone in the market for an SLR Digital
without problem.
Problems:
Material is 'weird' though not horrible. A acts a little like a nail file,
leaving white marks on the body.
Viewfinder is a little small. But nothing that bothers too much.
Wish B/w was more more easily accesible, rather than through menu's
Flash pops up very agressively.
