CD cover? (bored too...)

Inspired by Chris Kateff's post last week, and a little bored (like "Eva"), was playing with an uninspired snapshot of a friend I'd taken earlier - thought I'd attempt a CD cover:



Would be interested in your comments, suggestions or examples. The smoothing and colourising were an attempt to emulate early platinum/palladium prints - thought I might submit as an action for the next 'actions folder' if any are interested.

John,

Just got back from a half-week in Chicago to visit Tory. i.e. the one who inspires all my photoshop creations. This is a very nice CD cover you've made. Might I suggest trying a different font--one that somehow better fits the mood of the picture (which is skillfully edited)?

When you're really bored, spend an afternoon on http://www.1001fonts.com and download some free fonts. Might I suggest "Dali" and "Dear Joe"? Those are some of my favorite script/handwriting type fonts.

Hi Chris - thanks for your comments and the link to that font site - just had a brief peruse and it looks fantastic - though think it'll take more than an afternoon to do it justice!

I'm still trying to figure out which fonts look good once I've 'bevelled' them in PS, some seem to respond badly whilst others look great.... will try out your suggestions.
