My first digital camera purchase..
After much deliberation
I purchased the A95 and was happy with its performance and features of flip out screen. During my purchase I also considered the Sony DSCW1, among other models of a similar price bracket
Both the Sony DSCW1 and (after 16months) and A95 (after about 11 months) are being phased out.
Some very good prices available on these models currently.

Care is needed in purchase. This camera certainly needs a good charger with NiMH batteries. AA Alkalines supplied do not last long

However after taking it home..

I decided based on the "problems" That I would exchange for the Sony DSC W1 with which I am now VERY happy

Problems:

One or two key matters came to my attention after purchase. Some of which is not mentioned in the reviews I have read.
1) Ease of connectivity to a PC via USB. You need to load a heap of software and the interface for Canon cameras
is NOT direct USB (plug and play) it is via Twain driver.
So every time you plug into another PC you need to load all the software..
2) The camera is a little weighty with 4 xAA cells used
3) In the end I went back and exchanged for the Sony DSC W1
