I have owned the Panasonic LC1 for over six months now. It is by far the best digital camera I have own with its (small) limitations. It just feel right (like a SLR). The Leica design lens is superb! Probably the strongest point on this camera. I have got used to the EVF and do not see it as a negative. The images coming out of this camera in JPEG mode with its internal processing are first class. Nothing (at this point) will compare! The big TFT monitor is a joy to see.
I also own a Nikon D100 with an array of AF-S lenses, and see myself usign the LC1 much more. If you want to get one move soon as I hear it is becoming difficult to get. Same camera as the Leica D2 but less expensive. I prefer the looks and feeling of the LC1 better than the D2.
This camera is ideal for Landscape, Portrait and Candids.
Contrary to a previous post, I think the battery last a long time! I always carry a second one just in case.
You will not regret this camera!!
Problems:
Small buffer for RAW but not a problem if you can wait. This is not a camera for fast action shooting.
Noise at higher ISO.
