I started digital photography with a 10D 2 years ago. This past March I added the 1DMK2. The MK2 is wihout a doubt the best camera I have ever owned. The image quality is super. I can make enlargements of 50% crop and even more with super results. The AF is FAST and the 8.5 fps has allowed me to capture images the 10D or even my frineds 20D would have missed.

The camera is built like a rock. It feels absolutely solid.

Some negatives are that the cost is high. I paid $3900. So, while it is the best camera I have owned, it is also the most expensive.

The weight is higher thanthe 10D. It took me about 2 day of shooting before the weigt seemed natural. The 10D now feels like a light weight, less solid instrument.

The computer interface is fast with the firewire hook up. However, the up-load process is certainly more cumbersome than the 10D.
