Very disappointed -
The features are very standard. The D-Lighting feature is great but this is something you need to manually apply to each picture, after it's been taken. It adjusts the brightness of the picture very well but frankly I think almost every picture you take needs D-Lighting. So, what is the point of this feature!
But who cares about the features if it can't even focus well to take a decent picture.
Contrary to most of other reviews on this camera, this camera was very disappointing. Or perhaps I got a lemon!
Problems:
Anyhow, I think the biggest problem I had was with the Auto-Focus. Most outdoor pictures are fine, except anything under shaded area. I took a picture of a group of 10 people by a tree and my camera was set at about 10 feet. I used the timer to take the picture and all faces were blurry.
Here is the most disappointing part. I attended a wedding ceremony and banquet last weekend and took about 50 pictures. All of them where taken indoor and 90% of them are blurry. Unbelievable! My old Canon A40 at 2MP can take better picture that this one.
As a reference, I found someone who had the same problem on the Internet. Just do a google search on, "5900 7900 sd400 steve's".
Luckily, the vendor let me exchange for another camera. So I got the Canon SD400 and I’m very happy with it.
