I was looking at the D50 and the Canon 350D and went with the Nikon, mainly because I liked how the D50 felt in my hands. I couldn't be happier with my choice, I'm taking my best pictures ever. Easy to use, great feel and great photos straight from the camera.
Problems:
The only problem I've encountered is a tendency to overexposed shots and blown highlights. I find myself using -0,7 exposure compensation most of the time.
