I've had this camera for a month and taken many pictures in a variety of conditions with great results.

My main use of the camera is family photography. Birthdays, soccer games, family gatherings, vacations. My secondary use of the camera is a growing interest in photography.

For me, this is the perfect camera. The zoom is incredible. To be able to take head shots at 30 yards away or close ups of my son on the soccer field from my chair on the sideline is priceless. No camera I've ever had, film or digital seemed to have enough zoom.

The camera is very fast and responsive and takes outstanding action shots in good outdoor light.

The cool features and optional manual settings satisfies my growing interest in photography.

In my opinion image quality is really great. I've taken some very cool pictures. Could you get better image quality for the money. Yes. For me personally and my use of the camera, the zoom and features far outweights the marginal difference in image quality that I may have found in another camera.

Other pluses. Battery life is great, takes great movies, swivel lcd.

I would guess that if your intended use of the camera is similar to mine, it's a good choice.

If you're a hard core phographer and want and can afford a dslr, then you should get one.

As well as being a great camer in general, it's fun to use.

Problems:

The only problems I've encountered with the camera are those I've seen posted here. I really put them in the category of, nothing's perfect.

Once in a while I'll get a blurry shot, or part of a picture that looks out of focus. I find this to be the exception.

The lens makes a very slight noise when zooming. I've only noticed it in complete silence.

The lens cap is a non issue.
