When I first saw this camera on dPreview two years ago it was love at first sight. I just knew that one day prices will get down and I will have enough money to buy this masterpiece. For an amateur photographer (me) the option of paying anything more than 1000€ wasn't an option at all.
Finally, two months ago I went to the local store and bought "E-1 SE kit". SE stands for kit with 14-45mm lens with which, to be honest I could live.
The camera is a real pleasure to use. It fits into my hand PERFECTLY.
-Construction of the camera could not be better. Ladies might even have some problems using it due to it's size and weight.
-Features: everything I need is implemented.
-Image quality: Good enough for my needs, although it is probably more than enough for the real needs of 95% amateur photographers. I mostly use ISO200 and noise is not an issue, at 400 it becomes apparent in shades.
Easy of use: Could it be more simple than this? I don't think so. The E-1 is definetely designed to allow photographer to use all functions without moving his/her eye away from viewfinder. Once mastered E-1 becomes "natural" extension to your hand.
-Value for money: If you are not crazy about megapixels, and can live with maximum ISO800 (usable) E-1 should be very nice buy.

Ok, I am aware that this camera is almost 3 years old and I bought it "late in it's life", but with 2 year warranty, and bulit like a tank... fully satisfied!

Problems:

Few hot pixels out of the box, did pixel remaping and all OK.
