While this is my first digital camera I think that overall it is a good one and fun to use. My only question concerns battery life, which I have seen commented on as being poor but which I would consider ridiculous. I seem to get only 12 to 18 shots before it tells me to change the battery. Is this normal or am I doing something wrong? The printed directions claim up to 300 shots before recharging. I am using the original Canon battery and one additional one that I bought with the camera. Are longer-life batteries available?
