I bought the E-300 to take on a trip to China. It is my fifth digital camera,
but my first digital SLR. I was very happy with the images I got, except in the
most extreme low light situations. The camera handles well, it is comfortable
in my hand (though some do not like the ridge on the grip). It took a while
to learn the camera and its capabilities. I am still learningthings. But, once I
became comfortable with the controls, the E-300 became a great tool. I can
recommend it to anyone who wants a solid, functional. capable camera at a
reasonable price.
Problems:
I find that the autofocus has trouble in very low light situations. The use of
the flash for low light focus assist is troublesome as it makes people think you
have shot when in fact the camera is searching for focus.
