Simple and effective camera. Pictures are consistent, with good clarity. I suggest using the highest resolution. Response time is quick. Ability to make a lot of adjustments (aperature, shutter speed, ISO, etc.) is useful. Battery life is amazing. I bought two Panasonic 2300mAh NiMh AA batteries and tried to see how many shots I would get. Using a mix of modes, flash on/off, power up/down, etc. (but display always on), I took well over 2000 shots. I had to erase my 512MB SD card a few times. Crazy.

For the price, this camera has to be at or near the top of its class.

Problems:

-30 second limitation on video captures
-can't figure out how to change the exposure (is it possible?)
-flash can be too bright when object is close
