Construction is really compact: when camera is off, lenses park themself within the camera and it's flat, can go in any pocket. Case is solid and strong, it's very light and portable - weighting just 180g, perfect to have with you all the time.
The only thing that is not so good by design is that flash is close to lense, so you will often get red-eyes picturing people in low light (night) with flash. That is the main negative point with this camera, and reason why i gave such low points on construction.
It has lots of features, ability of manual settings. I took outstanding night shots with long expositions. If you use ISO higher that 200 you'll get noise.
Colours are nice, but red objects are little too red (a bit bursted red, but only on red objects, not whole pic).
Very nice and sharp movie clips, sound is maybe not loud enough, but ok. Buy a Sony MemoriStick PRO (this pro is important if you want to shoot movies with highest resolution) of at least 500MB to be comfortable in shooting movies and pics in highest resolution (7MP, about 2.5MB per pic, highest quality).
Very fast reactions, startup time, metering - really fast camera.
Li-ion battery is very durable. I had no need for extra bat.
I'm looking now for some better, i compared it in low light conditions with Canon EOS 300D, taken many shots of the same (low-light) scene with both, and EOS did produce maybe a bit better results, but so insignificantly that it's not worth the cost to buy it, and has no video capability and is bulky so it's not something i'll buy. I'm also considering Olympus C8080 that has good reviews on picture quality and no red-eye problem.
Problems:
Red eyes. Mastered removing red eyes in photoshop, but much better would be if flash is few cm more away from lenses - red-eye problem wouldn't exist at all.
Unfortunately, this model can't use external flashes!
Red-eye is the only thing bothering me with this camera.
That's why I gave 4 on image quality, otherwise i would give about 4.7.
When zooming into pictures taken with flash in dark, there can be dark areas with little noticable noise, but take into account that i'm considered to be perfectionist and investigating every detail very, very zoomed in. When there is enough light, pictures are really very, very good.
Apart from red-eyes - it is awesome, and much cheaper than it's real value!
