I was thinking about a D200,

but the ability to work at ISO 1600 with the 30D the decision was clear.

Image quality is very good only Nikons D80 or Fujis S3 performs better in colours and Dynamic Range. Anyway, it's easy to use for a beginner, not heavy with batterygrip, fast focus which is better in low light than the 20D and pleaseant colours. It's a little 5D.

all in all a very good camera for less money.

Problems:

And a little small for my hands, no weathersealing, flash must still up for focussing in low light which is not well done.
