In the early seventies, it took me a whole year to settle on which affordable 35 mm camera to buy, I settled on Nikromat EL. There is no such thing as the perfect camera. However, I think Canon now has a case of over confidence due to their market share. They even are ignoring the dust problems in some of their expensive lenses that are filling the web. Where are their marketing people? To get to my point, I have a G6 for two years and 10,000 shots at an image quality of precisely 8.5 out of 10 as this website fairly gave it. I was not happy with the image quality (I have a Hasselblad XPAN, talking about image quality). Finally I would like to share the other two opinions posted that Canon dose not listen to the COUSTEMERS. (1) Where is the remote? (2) Where is the RAW? (3) Where is the swivel screen?
