Spent close to three months debating, purchased the K10D and a D80, returned the D80 after two weeks of comparison. Used the Sigma 17-70m as a walk around lens plus.
RAW mode provides excellent sharp images, as do custom jpegs. Tweaked to use custom settings you can get that "Canon" sharp look. At first I didn't like the lack of an electronic flash release, but having to put it up manually means you will never accidentally have the flash going off somewhere it isn't needed.
AF is very fast, in AF-S mode it double checks the focus before taking the picture (it moves focus in and out of the focus point to confirm). To speed things up put it in AF-C mode and take the picture when it snaps into focus. Very competitive speed wise to the Nikon D80 in that respect. Hopefully Sigma will start supporting HSM lenses for Pentax.
TAv mode is fantastic.
The viewfinder is fantastic and bright. Handling is nice, well balanced even for my big hands. Haven't used the battery grip yet.
All in all a fantastic camera, comparable to D200 and 30D for a better price.
Problems:
Slightly heavy, but thats what you are paying for. It's big, but remember its in the league of the D200 and 30D in terms of features.
