Returned to retailer - I purchased this camera as a carry-around camera for situations when my Nikon D200 and D70 wouldn't be appropriate.
It has a lot of features nicely packed into a small package, namely aperture and shutter priority and 7x zoom. I was also interested in the non-extending lens.
The camera has great image quality when used outdoors in bright sunlight, but I was so unsatisfied with indoor image quality and certain features that I returned it.
Problems:
- Image quality for shots taken indoors was poor, even at the lowest ISO settings. Apparently, Casio employs built-in noise reduction that smears features and causes detail to be lost. Even when the proper care was taken (adjusting flash power, ISO, WB, etc.) indoor images were poorly exposed and "cold" feeling.
- The main reason I returned the camera was because I had to go into the menus to reset ISO and WB every time I turned the camera off/on or switched best scene modes, even if I had my default settings the way I wanted them to be.
Typically, the weaknesses of point-and-shoot cameras can be overcome with knowledge of proper settings, but the fact that this camera reset your choices each time you turned the camera off made it impossible to use the camera quickly and effectively.
