I upgraded to the S9100 from Nikon Coolpix 8700, I’m totally satisfied and everything is perfect for a camera in this price range.
I expect following upgrades by installing upcoming firmware from Fujifilm:
• Adding ‘Natural Light & Flash’ dual shot mode of FinePix S6000fd, which is very useful.
• Moving "White Balance" and "RAW mode" from main menu to "F" menu.
Problems:
• No optical or mechanical (sensor shift) image stabilization (relies on high ISO).
• The hot shoe has no TTL.
• Harder to manually focus because of focus ring mechanism (by wire).
• Turning on the camera after it enters the power saving mode requires, to switch it off and on (not a simple press on the shutter as many other cameras).
