Excellent shots, as soon as I got the camera I went out to the back yard and "played" with the camera taking literally thousands of pictures to discover just what it could do. The 12X zoom is amazing I think some people's reviews here speaking of bad color, noise, focus have not read the manual or practiced with the cameras functions enough to give an accurate appraisal of picture quality. There are links to pics on this site that show the abilities of this camera which are way beyond what I have been able to achive. I've had this camera 2+ years and love it, am looking at the FZ-50 for up grade but waiting to see its successor which should be out in the next month or two.
Problems:
Battery life is to short especially when using the LCD viewer and the viewfinder is to grainy/pixilated. In my opinion Panasonic should have used AA batteries which I and most people have dozens of all over the house for use in everything from remotes to flash lights. If my rechargeable AA NiMH go dead while out somewhere without a charger AA alkalines can be purchased virtually anywhere.
