I started out reasonably early in digital after having used mainly Hasselblad &
Canon 1 series 35mm film cameras.
I started with the d30 then d60 followed by the 1DS & currently own the 1DS2 &
1DMK3.
So having used digital over a long period of time I have got a bit of a feel for it. The
1DSMK2 obviously killed anything I had previously used (not that I would complain
about the 1DS) But, my problem was that I only had one body (I don't count the
300D which I own) I was hanging out for a really top shelf backup but did not want
the 5D as it still did not fit my idea of a pro camera.
So, the MK3 was announced & the white paper released. I took onne look at the
paper & immediately knew this was going to be the solution I needed.
I bought the camera a month ago. I love it. The menu system is a breeze to use.
The high iso noise is as good as non existent. It focuses & exposes like a dream &
overall, at this early stage of my tests that the IQ is as good as my 1DSMK2.
This camera will not be my backup. That position goes to my 1DSMK2.
The MK3 is my main unit now.
Problems:
OK this update is a few months later. I have had a focus issue which was most
noticeable on my 300 2.8 is.
Canon have now come up with a fix so I assume it will be all good. After shooting quite
a few jobs with this camera my opinion has not changed. It is a fantastic unit.
