I have had this camera for a year and a half now. First did not like the output, then realized that this camera had to be learned. Once learned (to a certain degree), the pictures are
stunningly unique. I own/ owned several different digicams, Panasonic Fz15, Olympus C7000, Canon SD 200, Fuji f30, Fuji f31fd and older models. I really like all the above mentioned cameras. I especially have a softspot for my Panasonic Fz 15.

But the GRD is unique, not as good in low light as the Fuji's, not as sharp as the C7000 or the Fz15. But it has something, something very unique. If I had to sell all but one camera, I would keep the GRD. It creates something like "film noir" looking pictures, close to reality but laeger 5than reality, if this makes sense.

In my opinion, it is the most unique digital camera out there right now. A classic. If lost, I would buy it again immediately (bypass the GX-100 personally, probably a great camera, but I would still go back to the GRD).

Problems:

Rubber handgrip will peel off eventually, just need to re-attach it with double sided tape. My camera is currently acting up a bit, freezes sometimes upon turning it on, started doing this only about 6 weeks ago, I am watching it, may have to send it in for servicing).

I don't like pictures taken with the the built- in flash very much, they often come out overexposed. Probably better to use an external flash.

Long RAW writing times, I use RAW very rarely though, jpegs are great.
