Wow, I must say I am very impressed with this camera. I didn't know what to expect. I
have never owned a Sony or Minolta dSLR, but came into some Minolta glass and
so I bought an a700 even though I already own two Canon dSLRs. To sum up the
a700: excellent in every respect. Image quality is fabulous, camera is built very well,
AF is quick and accurate and that LCD puts my Canons to shame. I would take this
feature over the current state of Live View any day of the week. The sharpness of the
LCD really allows for judging sharpness in the field. The last thing I'll speak to is the
dynamic range optimizer or DRO. This camera body has given me my first
experience with this feature and it definitely comes in handy in tricky exposure
situations and makes the photographers job a little easier.

Problems:

I wish price had been closer to the 40D, but that is a nit.
