The camera is well built and easy to use. (I have only had it a few months now)
All is going well.
It is everything you would expect.
Photos can be a 'bit' noisy in poor light, but to be honest it is not an SLR and you get more than exceptional performance from this compact camera.
(Read the bits that bug me)

Problems:

There are 2 things that really bug me about this camera.
The first is not such a big problem, if you are in the automatic settings mode (the green bit) then you cannot force the flash on. Your options are automatic or off. This is annoying if you just want to use the automatic settings yet highlight something in shadow. This may be a canon thing as it is my first canon.
The second bugs me so much that i could not believe that it was true. The camera supports USB2 , great, but ONLY has support for a twain driver. This means that you cannot get it to appear as a 'drive' on your computer, you have to have a piece of software installed to read it. Worse still you have to use the software on the CD and cannot just download it from canon as they do not offer it for free.
If you move from computer to computer or do not have admin rights on the computer then you have to install this driver.
Now you can get around it in some cases where it will detect it as a twain device BUT you can only remove photos, you cannot add them. SO moving photos around from stick to stick is not possible. If you have a mac, fear not then iPhotos will deal with it all. The twain driver is REALLY SLOW, (perhaps why they limit you to something like 2000photos per folder)
So i emailed canon as all i want is the camera to appear as a drive, you can drag drop and do what you like, just like my Sony. Here is the reply

Thank you for writing to us. We value you as a Canon customer and
appreciate the opportunity to assist you with your PowerShot SD950 IS.

No, it is not possible to mount the camera as a drive letter.

To do what you requested I would recommend purchasing a memory card
reader. Card readers can be found in any local electronic store such as
Wal Mart, Best Buy, Costco, etc. You would remove the memory card from
the camera and plug it into the card reader after plugging the card
reader into the usb port on the computer. Now access my computer and
the card reader will show up with your c: drive, d: drive, etc... at
this point you will have to double click on the icon for the card
reader. At this point you can drag and drop the images.

So you have to buy a card reader, so be it, however as i am sure most of you have a card reader and this is not a problem (or you can borrow one, or your pc has one built in) BUT remember that this camera takes SDHC (high capacity SD cards) So you can get 8gb etc to fit. SD is NOT backwards compatible with SDHC, so the chances are that you will have to buy yet another card reader to support his format.

If anyone finds a work around PLEASE let me know!!!!!
