This was a fun camera for the money. It was a step above the typical consumer camera with some adjustments available (AV/TV preferred, etc) , and the 300 mm optical zoom was neat. Note that there was a digital zoom beyond that. I had mine for 4+ years and never had a problem with it. It did seem to eat AA batteries but I buy those in volume anyway. I've taken some beautiful shots with it and it did well, as long as you
(like any camera) understand its limits and didn't push beyond them. Mine was only recently retired when I upgraded to my Canon EOS 400.
