I recently bought one A650is because my A95 was not working anymore after one night spent forgotten on the car at a temperature of -5 C. I don't know if this was the reason but after that night the image sensor was black. I find the new A650 really good, image quality is much better than the A95 and I immediately tested it during a two weeks vacation at the Maldives where I also brought my SLR camera, a 4 years old Nikon D100. Even compared to this one I find the A650 really good. I have taken many night pics of the lagoon where I was at a full moon light and the result was better with the A650. I find only some problems when using high ISO sets, after 400 there is a lot of noise. Below this limit the image quality is always so good. I agree with those that they would like to have a direct set of the flash mode when pressing the button and not only the opening of the setup window.I also like a lot to use it in full manual mode and the usability is perfect. The quality of videos improved a lot as well, even if always at the resolution of 640x480. Also the LCD monitor screen is perfect and much better than the one of my dead A95. I always appreciate the 4 AA size batteries and also the shift to the SD card instead of the CF. In a few words I really enjoy my new camera and I appreciate a lot the fact that I can have always with me such a device also when it would be difficult to carry my SLR camera.
