Evolution produces amazing things and the E-3 is a unique camera that stands alone. While the cost is competitive with others in it's class the E-3 offers much more in the end as well as great savings when all is said and done. The size of the E-3 is not miniscule but when you have an articulating screen to use with LiveView and in body Image Stabilization to make all your lenses IS anyone who has purchased a single OIS lens will know how much you can save. The Zuiko glass quality is well known and with IBIS becoming legendary. Having owned the 510 I wasn't certain I'd be so impressed by the E-3 but the massive ViewFinder took my breath away the moment I held it up to my eye. The image quality is gorgeous and noise levels are competitive with it's true competitors. You would have to spend three times the money on the body alone to get the D3 in order to beat it hands down and then add the glass. I've already been stuck in a heavy downpour and gone hiking in the snow proving to me that the weatherproof commentary is not just talk. This camera will go with you anywhere you want, even places no other dslr would dare or could go. You will no longer be limited by the cameras limitations with weather. No single camera is going to suit every photographers particular style, but the E-3 will cover a lot of pro photographer needs and when you're ready to go for a hike after shooting that weather you'll find it's going to jump in your pack and come with you. There are many excellent cameras in the pack and the versatility, build, image quality and features of the Oly flagship offer more and different things from the rest. The others keep copying the Oly innovations and in cases like the dust reduction systems never as effective as what Oly offers you're going to get a camera with options above and beyond the competition. This camera is made for each individual to customize it for their particular shooting style. That coupled with a grip that feels like it was made for human hands with a consideration to comfort made it the choice for me with no regrets.

Problems:

I would love to have a couple of the regularly used buttons placed differently, but after a bit of time I'm getting used to it. No camera is perfect but this one comes close for me as the negatives are so minor and just personal preferences.
