I've had an E-1 for years and have a 1ds Canon system as well.
I was NEVER happy with the e-1, which has poor resolution. The E-3 is superb. The
customisation is way ahead of the 1ds2, it's much lighter, the IS really works and the
IQ is good enough for most stuff. The 12-60 is a cracker. I've just done a comparison
with 14-54 and 14-42. It's the best. Live view is also a great way of previsualising
exposure etc. They should've had a button to change recording criteria (Raw etc.) but
I've customised the Fn button to do that.

Problems:

Not so far. Will post a follow up in a few months.
Here Goes.
I got the LCD which was loose and rattly tightened by Olympus.
This is not the only camera I use, but all in all it's great. The standard lens 12-60 is the best single lens I've ever used when you combine speed, sharpness, focal length range and IQ. It's a superb lens for a wedding.
The control layout of the E3 remains quirky, but if you only use it, you get totally used to it. The two custom layouts you can do, and switch to using the Mode button, are very handy e.g for sports etc.
This camera has enough resolution for all practical purposes. I recently bought a Panasonic G1 and it's fine, but the 12-60 draws me back to the E3. It not only has a better reach, but is sharper than the Panasonic lens.
