Review should be Extremely Recommended. Shame DPeview: it's a heck of a lot better than Canon 450D and even 40D. Better then Nikon D80 and D200 and about on par with D300.
I'm a wedding photographer and prefer this camera over the Canon 40D (inconsistent metering) and the Nikon D300 ( to complicated to change settings, like action AF)
No other DSLR has such a fantastic liveview. You can get low shots or overhead shots, impossible with other camera's. Th software is better then either Canon DPP, which crashes a lot or Nikon Capture NX which cost almost 200 euro and is as slow as can be if it doesn't crash.
Review is too much about high ISO: how much percent of the time does anybody shoot in the dark? 5%??
And then still it performs fantastic: shoot RAW without NR and use the NR in the software: Presto! Better then any other software, with sharp pictures without noise.
After Nikon D300, Canon 40D and several others, I conclude this camera has the best to offer for the money. Light measuring is on par with the D300! Color rendition is accurate and better than the 40D and about the same as the D300.
Best liveview implementation that exists!
I shot pictures in a dark church, but I only needed ISO 400, because with the Stabilizer and shooting with liveview tilted screen from the stomach, I could easily shoot at 1/2 a second!! Try that with any of the other brands.
One last thing is the kitlens: some will tell you, you need to buy the 600 euro Carl Zeiss 16-80 lens. Don't! It's total hogwash. Look at pictures from slr gear dot com and you'll see in some pictures the kitlens is actually better and sharper at 35mm wide open. Look in the right upper and lower corners for example.
Extremely recommended!
