I went from a Nikon D70 to the A700. I have used it for several months now. It is a wonderful camera.
This is my 4th "DIGITAL" and 2nd DSLR. I have 25 years of photography experiences "Learning more all the time".
The 3" display is the best on the market.
Menu system is the easiest and best I've used.
SSS image stabilization helps some, but it isn't a fix all, nor will it be for any other camera or lens.
Takes great color and contrast shots.
If you desire to clean up the noise at higher ISO please look a using "NEAT IMAGE". It can be downloaded from the internet for a free trial.
The DRO helps. But you can buy ACDSEE PRO 2 for cataloging and adjusting your shots. It has a SHADOW/HIGHLIGHT with LIGHT EQ that has a 9 band equalizer that allows you to change just a portion of your photo's light or darkness exposure. It's the best I've ever found at this function.
Between the two programs above you can over come most any problem you encure with the exception of BLUR, which noone is going to help.
Now you are set to go learn to be a better photographer and enjoy this wonderful camera.
The only part left is the choosing of lens. I use the Sony 18-250mm and enjoy it's range. The Ziess 16-105mm may be sharper, but I haven't tried it.
The weakiest part of the camera is YOU. Learn more and the camera will give you whatever it is that you desire.
Problems:
None.
