I upgraded to the EOS 40D from Fujifilm FinePix S9100 and step in DSLR word on Jun 08 and combine it with following accessories:

• Sigma 18-200 OS as all in one lens
• Canon EF-50 1.8/f II for portrait
• My old Metz 32Z-2 external flash
• Highly recommended Ef-D interchangeable focusing screens with grid line
• A spare BP-511A rechargeable battery pack
• Gorillapod SLR-ZOOM
• Lowepro SlingShot 200 AW

After 6000 shots and direct comparison with JPEG results of some DSLR with almost same resolution like Nikon D80 and Canon EOS 450D I can fairly say that its dynamic range, color tonality and contrast is remarkable and much better than both, and regarding its continues shooting and high ISO performance I have nothing to say except admiring.
I seriously believe that for certain sensor size there is a maximum effective pixel numbers that if exceeds, cause nothing other than disadvantages like lower dynamic range, higher noise level and demand for decent and expensive optics, with today available sensor technology for APS-C it is almost 12 MP and for compacts it is 6 MP (this is way I stick to my old Fujifilm FinePix F31fd for point and shooting).

I expect following upgrades by installing upcoming firmware from Canon (they should read my lips!):

• Activating live view by "direct print" button like 50D in order to make customizable "set" button free for other function like image quality in shooting mode.

• Making following items customizable:

1. "Jump" button.
2. Top LCD panel backlight.
3. Auto ISO range.

It is perfect camera which after release of its younger brother (50D) and new falling prices became more irresistible for potential enthusiast buyers.

Nothing!
