The film simulation is not that great; just a marketing ploy. It's too heavy and too many controls. May as well have a DSLR. My Panasonic FZ28 out performs it by far. I bought it for the manual zoom, but overall disappointed with this camera.
Problems:
When the camera goes to sleep it cannot be woke up by pressing the the shutter release, you have to turn it off and then back on. It also is slow to focus and has trouble focusing at times. Has a lot of PF and CA.
