Purchased this camera mainly for the Burst mode speed. YES its a rocket firing off 4 shots per second! All w/ perfect quality and it keep shooting untill the card is full! Menus are a bit more involved and complex than my S2-IS but similar. It takes a bit of reading to sort them out and the mode dial spins unlike the S2. The Manual didn't mention that.
Pictures overall are good but a bit grainy at full zoom for some reason. Focus is fast as is the zoom. Hardly any distortion at full 20X. Movie modes and stereo sound is GREAT. Start up time is about a second. Overall a good buy especially if you want a fast camera.

Problems:

Has more buttons than the S2 and they are VERY SENSITIVE to the touch. You can easily touch one without knowing it - changing any multiple of settings and not know it untill you look thru the viewfinder and say "what the F___ is going on here?" Every once in a while the camera looses its focus reference and the only way to fix it is to turn the camera off then back on. Battery life is short. I went thru 5 sets of batterys in one day last week end at the air show. Canon should have developed one large Lithium battery instead of the 4 AA's that are a pain to change. When the batterys go low you only have a 20 second time span from the time the "low battery" starts flashing untill the camera shut down!
